Areas of Practice

Curt has practiced law in Southern California since 1983.  Curt primarily focuses his practice in the areas of business law, acquisitions, real estate law, environmental law, and particularly complex business transactions.

Curt has been in private practice in Ventura since 1987.  Prior to that time, Curt served as Real Estate Counsel in the bankruptcy proceedings of Sambo's Restaurants, where he oversaw the disposition of real property in 45 states.  He later became General Counsel to the bankruptcy trustee in the case.  Curt was a partner of Fairfield, Strauss, Uritz & Kinigstein and Strauss • Uritz before forming Uritz & Associates.

Curt occasionally serves as a lecturer and an instructor with the Hazardous Materials Management Certificate Program at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Interests

Curt is an avid dog trainer.  Curt trains and regularly competes in agility, obedience and other competitive venues with his Australian Shepherds, Devin (16 years old and comfortably retired), Austin and Dylan.  Austin occasionally maintains office hours at 199 Figueroa and excels at greeting clients and other visitors.
