Camp Lejeune Justice Act Claims for Veterans and Families
Throughout four decades, contaminated drinking water at North Carolina’s U.S. Marine Core Base Camp Lejeune put hundreds of thousands of people at risk for cancer and other serious illnesses. Between 1953 and 1987, two of the eight wells at Camp Lejeune were contaminated with harmful chemicals known to cause cancer and other severe illnesses. These wells contaminated the drinking water for all those drinking and bathing within the base. All those affected include service members, civilian workers, and families stationed on the base. Fifteen different illnesses and medical conditions including several types of cancer, reproductive problems, birth defects, and Parkinson’s disease have been linked to Camp Lejeune water contamination.
If you are already receiving medical benefits or other compensation from the V.A. for Camp Lejeune water, you still qualify for filing a claim under the Camp Lejeune Justice Act.
President Joe Biden on August 11th, 2022 signed the PACT Act, which encompasses the Camp Lejeune Justice Act along with other legal matters pertaining to toxic exposures related to military service. Ventura Law is currently investigating claims and will represent you or a loved one affected during their time in Camp Lejeune. Please call (203) 800-8000 today for a free review of your case.
Camp Lejeune and Related Cancers
The Veterans Association has acknowledged multiple qualifying health conditions for the hundreds of thousands of people who were unknowingly exposed to cancer-causing chemicals known to cause esophageal cancer, lung cancer, breast cancer, bladder cancer, kidney cancer, leukemia, non-Hodgkin lymphoma, and a host of other illnesses. The contaminated water affected veterans, National Guard, reserve members, and families who lived on the base for at least 30 days cumulative.
The affected personnel who spent time at Camp Lejeune have been wronged and now have an opportunity through the Justice Act to seek justice and the financial compensation they deserve.
